PENCIL LINES

Today I have a LO made with a very cute sketch from over at Pencil Lines.

I have used an everyday photo of my DD and
the co conspirator next door -  I think
we were at dinner at Maggiano's.

I have used Webster's papers for the background, the strips and for the gate.
The medallion on the gate is also from Websters.
The rub-ons are CI, the butterflies are K&Co, the lace flower
I made, the pearls are from Kaiser Craft,

Here is a close-up shot of the flowers and the gate.
I cut this with my Cricut Ornamental Iron cartridge
It is my new fave cartridge :0)

Here is a look at the sketch from Pencil Lines

I have also used the Inspiration Board #181 from over at
Color Combos Galore for this LO and the Designers Challenge
on this one was something "Lace" which I have used the gate for.

Hope you are having a great week so far.
It is rainy here - so no gardening again for me today :(
I really need to finish pruning my rose bushes!
Have a great day - thanks for stopping by!

SNOW DAY 2010

Well today is VERY dreary here!~
There has been almost no sunshine and it is dark and overcast outside.
What happened to my springtime ??

Today's LO is made using sketches from Sketchy Thursdays  and Bo Bunny I combined
them and made a two page LO using my pics from last years record
breaking Snow Day here in Dallas - 12.5 inches in 24 hours!!!
The second highest in my life :)

Here is my take on them

I have used papers from Heidi Swap, SandyLion, My Mind's Eye and EK Success.
My embellies are from Prima, Martha Stewart, the snowflake buttons,
the silver garland and the silver snowflakes are from the craft department.
The large chipboard snowflakes have been literally globbed with Glitter Glam, then
got a quick spray of Glimmer Mist. Some random bling and stamping finish the pages.

Thanks for hopping over and I love to read your comments!

ColorQ #73 and PageMaps Basic Grey Sketch

Howdy everyone! Spring is almost here, the first daffodils have popped their little heads up and are basking in the sunshine :0)

Today I have my LO for ColorQ #73 ,
these are not colors that I would normally use together,
so the combo was a bit of a stretch for me.
But I really like how it turned out.
The photo I have used is just an everyday photo, of my darling daughters and my dear Gussie.
For those of you who don't know me well, Gussie is my Grandmother, she was the delight of my heart and she passed away last year. I was her caregiver for the last 10 years of her life. She was an amazing woman who lived every single day of her almost 95 years.
Now, first let me say, that I know I misspelled the word "their" twice. I am the worst speller ever and all my family and friends know it. My scrapbooks are filled with misspelled words - it is just who I am !!!

I have used the Basic Grey Sketch over at PageMaps for this LO, so I loved pulling out my BG lines to match these colors. I have used LILYKATE, Oh Baby! Boy and Perhaps (which is one of my personal faves) and a transparency from the Origins line.  Also used were Prima, K&Co, Inkadinkadoo, Bazzill chippie, VersaMagic Ink, ribbon and pearls from my stash.

I had this little acrylic heart in my drawer, so I stamped it on the back with
StazOn Cotton White and ran a ribbon thru it.

Here is a look at the sketch I used

How fun it it?
Thanks for hopping over today. I am heading out to the garden to weed :(

PLAYING WITH CANVAS ART

A while ago I picked up some gallery canvas on sale at work to play with.
I have been trying different mediums on it to see how they come out.
I created these to pieces to go in my guest powder room.
The first thing I did was to paint the sides of the canvas with gold craft paint. I used Folk Art.
I picked a couple of random quotes from my journal and printed them on light weight paper.
I did some stamping and inking with my Galaxy Gold (Brilliance) ink pad.
Then I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the canvas.
I used the same stamps to decorate the sides, using VersaMagic Chalk Ink.
I added pearls and rhinestones to the stamped images on the front and the sides
and also used my stickles to add a little more sparkle.
A few Prima flowers and some brads and I was finished!
I had a lot of fun with these and they look great in my powder room.
The larger canvas is 10X10 and the smaller is 5X5.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

SKETCHY THURSDAYS AND MY BFF

Have you ever noticed friendship is HARD sometimes?
Can you remember some strange things you have done for your friends over the years?
Those things where right in the middle you ask yourself "why am I doing this?!?!?"
This LO is about one of those times!

I have used the sketch for the Guest DT challenge at Sketchy Thursdays and
I had a lot of fun with it. Here is a look at the sketch,,,
My LO is about one night when I got off work, after working my
normal 10 hour shift, and went to go stand in line at the mall with my BFF
while she waited to get the new Twilight movie.
Now, I don't want anybody throwing eggs or anything
- but I don't even LIKE these movies -
so I had to ask myself "why am I doing this?!"
I have used Bo Bunny, Websters Pages, Bazzill and Core'dinations cardstock, some old Rusty Pickle paper, some Primas, Maya Road, Teresa Collins Crown and Basic Grey bling. The chipboard heart I inked, then painted with my Twinkling H2O's and added a little glitter.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.
Hope your weekend is shaping up to be as nice as ours is
here in Dallas - the weather is PERFECT!

LATE SKETCHY THURSDAY!

Well I am a day late! It has been a crazy week here.
I made this LO for Sketchy Thursdays
but I had a little mishap in my scrap studio last night and I
didn't get it linked in time.

There is a BAT in the vent in the ceiling and it
scared the bejeezes out of me last night
and ran me out of the room!!!!

So I am just now posting this :0) Here it is,,,,

 I have used: Best Creations, LYB, Graphic 45 papers
Websters lace, Heidi Grace, Inkadinkadoo, Prima, Basic Grey
The bling is from my stash. I have inked my edges and
sewn here and there.
I love, love, love this little bunny! I had all the little poly clay pieces on
this LO made by a wonderful Ebay artist.
Take a look at the cute carrot in the picture below!

How unbelievably adorable is that?!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~PENCIL LINES~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today I have a very sweet photo of my DD and my little cousin,
playing in the wildflowers one spring.
I have used the sketch over at Pencil Lines for this LO.
I have flipped it upside down so I could have my embellies where I wanted them.
Here is a look at the sketch
 Now, if you think upside down :0) here is a look at my LO
I have used: Bazzill, Websters Pages, Graphic 45, Prima, Maya Road,
K&Co and some bling from my stash.
I have inked all my edges and sewn here and there.
The large flower is made as described in the previous post.
I have used my Cricut to cut my title.
The stamp is Inkadinkado.
Thank you for stopping by to see me.
I love to hear what you have to say about my LO, so please leave a comment!
Have a great day.
THE COLOR ROOM
Today I have a LO made using Palette #44 from The Color Room  - Love the colors,
second in my faves next to pink!
Lots of greens with a little bit of white thrown in.
I have also used the sketch from TCR for my inspiration.
I have flipped the sketch upside down and of course I have stretched
my embellies a little further across the page.
I just can't seem to leave white space on there!
The page must be filled!!!
I have used Creative Imaginations paper, Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey paper,
some chipboard pieces from my stash, some bling, some brads,
some flowers, and some ribbon from Maya Road.
I had a really had time finding the right flowers for this LO, which is too funny considering
how MANY I have in this room! But I finally made a couple with
some Webster's ribbon. I punched a piece of cardstock
and covered the whole thing with two sided tape.
Then I started from the outside of the circle and covered it
with the ruffled ribbon. Pretty cool, huh? The center of the near one is a
Webster's Bloomer cut off the strip, and for the other one I added a bead for the center.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
THE COLORQ
Today I have a LO I made for the ColorQ - the colors this week were my absolute favorite -
pink and pink and pink!
Here are some close ups of the details on my LO
White space is my personal enemy.
I just can't stand it on my LO's.
It must be covered up!
Here I have used a wonderful crocheted flower from my wonderful friend Sandy,
a Prima flower, embellies from Making Memories,  Basic Grey,
Maya Road and half of a rosette from the Tim Holtz die.
This Maya Road stick pin wasn't standing out like I wanted it to, so I covered it
front and back with Cotton White StazOn ink. Love how it turned out!
I added a little touch of stickles to my Primas for some sparkle.
I hope you have time to stop by the ColorQ and take a look at what the very talented DT
has done this week. And please play along - how can you resist with these colors?
Have a great day and  thanks for stopping by!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~VALENTINES CARD~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I love Valentines Day.
This year I have made so many projects, I don't know who I am going to give them all to!
Today I have a card that is going to an unknown recipient at this point.
I started this heart with a chippie shape that I picked up somewhere. I painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint, and while it was still wet I embossed it with a rubber stamp for a little extra texture.
After it was dry I inked the edges then glued it to a cardstock piece I have cut with my nesties.
The ruffle around it was cut from the outside of a paper doily.
I have used Daisy D's and Basic Grey papers, LYB, K&Co and Creative Impression embellies.
The ribbon is from my stash.
On the inside I have stamped my sentiment then cut my papers using my nesties.
The papers were inked, layered and sewn for depth. The jewels are Basic Grey.
On this side I have made a pocket to hold my little tag.
I LOVE these little die cuts from K&Co! I have used them on everything this year.
The transparency is from Little Yellow Bicycle.
How CUTE is this little tag!
And the best part???
It is already pre-made! Love you K&Co!
Just ink the edges and add some ribbon to the top and voila` (or waala as we say here in Texas) it is done.
Perfect.
COLOR COMBOS GALORE AND SKETCHY THURSDAYS
Today I have a LO that I spent a very long time on.  I spent more time remembering that I did scrapping I think!
The two girls in these photos are from my Girl Scout Troop. One is my DD and the other is one of her good friends. They were both in my troop from 2nd grade all the way thru 12th grade. This was the last campout we went on - their Senior year in high school. They were there helping out with a younger troop that I had, but mainly goofing off and having a good. Their reward for all the years of hard work they had put in.
I have used CCG #178for this LO
  I have also used the Sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays - I made it into a two page LO.
Here is my LO
I rotated the sketch 90 degrees and then added a second page in mirror image.
All the papers are from Basic Grey, the cardstock is Bazzill. I have used a MS edge punch. The title is Heidi Grace chipboard that I have inked and then stamped with StazOn ink. The flower is made with Offray ribbon. The rub-ons are Creative Imaginations.
The letters on this page and the charms are from The Girls Paperie. All the die cuts are K&Co.
Both of these yahoos graduate college this year. Hard to believe ~ it seems like only yesterday we were just starting out in second grade as Brownie Girl Scouts.
Thanks for stopping by. We are supposed to get MORE SNOW here in Dallas today. I am hoping that Spring will be here SOON!
PENCIL LINES
WOW!!!! We have been snowed and ICED in ALL week!
I don't think it is EVER going to end - they are calling for more snow over the next few days - this is DALLAS!! Do they know this??? And the Super Bowl is here tomorrow. It is a MESS!
OK - onto the LO I have for you today.
I have made this super sweet page using the sketch over at Pencil Lines
Here is my take on the sketch
I have used cardstock by Bazzill and The Paper Co, Basic Grey papers and Brads, Bo Bunny, Making Memories, Prima, Maya Road, and some other stuff from my stash. I have inked all my edges and sewn my papers for added visual depth.
I also have for you a couple of snow pics - we have been buried this week, we had a couple of inches of ice early in the week and then we got 6-8 inches of snow across the metroplex yesterday morning. Here are a couple of the visitors to my back yard and my two pooches.
My big fat black lab - Spankie
Our other hound - Rufus
This little fellow was playing around in the snow.
Well, if you are still with me, I hope you are having a great weekend! I am hoping to get out today and maybe do a little bit of shopping. I was supposed to be at Scrapbook Retreat this weekend with my Posse ~ but the pipes FROZE at the lodge, so we had to reschedule.  :0(  Mother Nature must have it in for me!
Today I have a LO I have made using the sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays~I really like the Sketch this week, and my LO went REALLY fast!
Here is a look at the sketch
I have also used Color Combos Galore Inspiration Board #176
For this combo I pulled out some Basic Grey Lily Kate papers that I have been hoarding and matched it with some newer embellies.
I have also used : Basic Grey papers from the Porcelain line, my EK Success scallop border punch, Prima flowers, Basic Grey brads, Maya Road doiley that I have inked, Tim Holtz die,  all the glitter stickers are from Pink Paisley, the ribbon is from my stash and the beautiful dressform stamp is from Just For Fun Stamps  They have some super cute stuff there and you should check them out.
