Time To Celebrate - Birthday Girl

I just can't believe that my baby turned 22 last year.
Where did the time go???
It was just yesterday that she was a little girl.
How did this happen?

I have used Basic Grey, Bazzill, Maya Road, Fiskars, Technique Tuesday stamps, and the
journal spot is from Ruby Rock-It. The Maya Road chippies I have colored with
my inka-gold then embossed with Enamelz Sparklicious from Shimmerz Paints.
It is a little hard to tell in the photo - but this stuff ROCKS.
It is an enamel powder that you use like embossing powder, but you can pour it
on and heat it up, so you have a little more flexibility with it.
Check it out HERE

By now I should be well on my way to Cozumel.
I really love to cruise. Have you ever taken a cruise?
It is by far my favorite kind of vacation!
You unpack one time and everyday you wake up in a new port!!!
How fabulous is that???? And there is free room service!!!
You just can't beat that!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a fabulous week :o)

That First Paycheck

Do you remember yours?
I sure don't remember mine! It was soooooo long ago.
See, this is the reason I scrapbook,,, years from now my DD
will have the photographic evidence of her first paycheck!

Here she is, in all her glory, with her very 1st paycheck, from Sonic.
I used Pink Paisley papers and Bazzill cardstock for this along with some bling, a little lace, my
Ranger distresser, Maya Road, Fiskars punch, Prima, Dusty Attic chippie, and paper lace from WRMK.
I used a resist embossing technique for the background, and then sprayed with Tattered Angels ink.
To color the chippie I used Inka Gold.

My stamps are Technique Tuesday and I used my sewing machine, Tsukineko inks, lace from Maya Road,
K&Co, and Offray to finish out the pages.

She worked so hard at this job - and made enough money to make it thru high school :o)
Gas money and clothes, what else did she need??

While you are reading this, I am out in the Caribbean!
My DH and I are out on our anniversary cruise.
I will have posts all week, if blogger plays along.
See you when I get back
Anita

Just a little Icky!!

Back in highschool, my Girl Scout Troop had to try MREs
(or any close cousin) for a badge they were earning.
So off to REI we went to pick some up.
They were not impressed, let me tell you!
I think they got a half a bite each down.
Maybe.
Sadly, I don't remember who made this paper! I know the black and white polka dot is from MME,
the cardstock is Bazzill, I have also used some chipboard pieces I have had
literally forever. I used paint, Inka gold and  heat embossing to color my chippies.
I used a little spray ink on the background paper and I did a little sewing with my machine.
The journal spot is a Basic Grey stamp.

If you ever get the chance to try an MRE - I would pass if I were you.
Unless there is nothing else available, they are not so hot!!

I guess I should clarify that MREs are Meals Ready to Eat
standard freeze dried meals that are issued to our military men and women in the field.
You add boiling water to them and they "rehydrate" to eat.
Yummy.

Thanks for coming by today.
One more day and I will be sailing in the Caribbean :o)

Crunch Time!!!

and if I can get DH to play along - all might go smoothly!
We leave for vacation in two days, and I have most of the agenda in order.
I still need to do a little grocery shopping for the kiddo who is staying home,
do a last load of laundry, and figure out a way to get my shoes in my suitcase!!!

Today's layout is for the challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous the A-Z challenge.
This month the letter is "G" and I have used my Gabrielle papers from Bo Bunny
I used Bo Bunny papers, a little Bazzill cardstock, some Recollections bling, and a stamp.
that's it. Look mom - no flowers!!!

I am also linking up over at Sketches in Thyme for the open challenge.
I used an old Page Maps sketch from my binder. Of course, I did not write down
which one it was and do you think I can find it now??? Nnnnnooooooo.

Hope you are having a great day where you are.
We are a balmy 80 degrees here in North Texas :o)
Thanks for stopping by!

I {Heart} you!

Well, Fat Tuesday is coming to a close.
Did you celebrate it up in style?
We went all crazy here and had brownie ice cream sundaes for dessert!
Yes, we are wild people here, I know :o)

Tonight I have a layout that took forever to make.
And my fingers are still sore.
I am using the challenges from
Frosted Designs - brads / eyelets
Bird Is The Word - The word "Heart"

My papers are Basic Grey. I used my Cricut to cut the heart. Then I spent FOREVER putting all those
little brads around the edge of it. Everything else on this LO came from my embellie drawer.
It is all stuff I have had forever, little odds and ends left over from other projects.
I am determined to use up the stuff I have on hand!!
The only new items on the page is the little white clothes pin on the edge of the photo,
and the K&Co die cut that is under the line of embellishments!

Want to see how many brads that took???
Well, this is how many brads I started with

The Fabulous Friday Challenge over at Frosted Designs is all about using up what you have.
So I got out all my white brads and dumped them on the plate.
I even sorted the white ones out of all those red/white/blue combos packs I have had for a while.
I used all but about 20 of these brads!!

Please be sure to stop by Bird is the word and Frosted Designs
to check out the fun challenges going on.
Have a great week!

Eating is a tradition here in Texas

Every social thing we do here revolves around food of some sort.
Having a birthday, lets cook dinner!
Graduating? Time for a BBQ.
Someone sick or in the hospital? We will all cook and fortify you with casseroles.
Almost all of my memories revolve around food of some sort!
Pancho's Mexican Buffet is one of those places where we have
always gone. And it is one of those places that you either love or hate - we LOVE it!
Even seeing the sign brings back memories of my Daddy, we ate there for lunch often.
When I had kids I took them - they love it too.

Right now over at Catered Crop the recipe calls for Red - which fit right in
with my memories for this set of photos.
These papers are so old, I am not sure who made them! It is one of those kits I bought
YEARS ago. I think it was Foof A La - but I am not sure. I have also used
Maya Road, Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Jenni Bowlin paints, Bazzill, ribbon and twine.

Be sure to check out the fun going on over at Catered Crop you will love it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

P.S. Only 4 days left until I leave for vacation :o)

A blog award!

A very sweet blogger, who I have been following for a little while,
nominated me for a Liebster Blog Award!
She is so nice and has such fun things on her blog.
Please stop by sometime and say hello to her!

"Liebster" is a German word that means "favorite" or "dearest", and the award is meant for up-and-coming bloggers with less then 200 followers.  Such an awesome way for us to show our support for new bloggers!  And to get our friends to check out the blogs we love!

In order to accept the award and keep the love going you must:
*Thank your award presenter on your blog {thanks ScrappyMo!}
*Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award
*Copy and paste the award to your blog
*Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that have fewer then 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized
*Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog

So here are the five wonderful blogs I am passing the award onto:
Noelle - at Paper and Ice
Pamela - at Reflections of my art & soul
Patty - at A Sassy Scrapper
Sandi - at Maximum Embellishment
And to
Christy - at Christys Crafts, she is such a sweetheart and is new to blogging,
and we all remember what that was like, right?
So please stop by and show her some love.
She has some wonderful vintage images on her blog right now.

All of these ladies have wonderful blogs that I love to visit for great
inspiration. Please stop by and visit them sometime!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today!
I only have 7 days until my DH and I leave for our anniversary cruise!

Valentine Boxes and ColourQ #124

Happy Valentines Day!!!
I hope you are having a sweet day so far :o)
My DH gave me a very cute card earlier today.

Today I have my ColourQ project. I made some very cute little candy boxes
for my daughters and one super nice soon to be son in law.
Really, there are too many shades of RED in the scrapbooking world. I think I have about
6 shades on here, the cardstock, the spray ink, the ribbon, the twine, the tickets, ,,,,
I really did start with the color palette in mind. But the reds threw me off track!!

Here is a filled box waiting on little hands to snatch it up,,
Of course all three of them like different candy,,, wouldn't
want to make my life easy now would we???

Here is the color palette this week
Super pretty colors!!!
Be sure to stop by the BLOG and see the fabulous things the ladies have made this week.
They are all so talented!!!

I actually made a card for DH this year instead of buying one.
Shocking, I know.

I used the new Tim Holtz stamp set for this, the XO on the top, the trio
of hearts in the middle, and the canvas heart on the bottom
were all stamped with his new set.
The canvas heart was stamped, then cut out, brushed with Blingz (from Shimmerz)
then I dripped Pearlz (also from Shimmerz) onto it.
Both of those Shimmerz products are from the Valentine's products kit.
I have had a TON of fun playing with those.

I am also linking up over at
Paper Issues - Love Is All We Need
Be sure to hop over there - TONS, and I mean TONS!!! of
cool stuff linked up over there!!!!!

Have a great day!

My Daughter's Mecca

Yippee! We made it past humpday!!
We are on the downhill slide now friends :o)

Today I have a LO for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge and the goal
was to use ribbon or twine that you have in your stash.
I have used a photo of my older DD taken during her first trip to
Canton's First Monday Trade Days. This is a HUGE thing here in Texas -
it is an enormous flea market/ garage sale/ antique show.
And she is a super shopper!! So she was loving it!

I actually used some of the Daisy Dee's paper I have been hoarding for several years now. I also used a chippie from Leaky Shed - if you have never shopped them you should check them out.I also used a Maya Road chippie and some CI rub-ons for my title.
The little piece of ribbon under my photo - I had to buy like 10yds of it a few years ago invitations I was making. Of course I had about 2ft left over. Still have it. Can't throw it away. Cost a fortune. So I managed to use 6 inches of it and now I am down to 18 inches of it left.
Oh and the stamp I used - bought it like 7 years ago - never used it until this LO.
I swear I am going to use all the stuff in this room at least once!!!!!

Be sure to check out Frosted Designs they have 3 challenges a week going on
over there. So there is lots to do!

Everyone have a great day!

Get Picky #16

I am so on top of things this year that I have already scrapped my
New Year's Eve photos from THIS YEAR.
Imagine that????
It will probably never happen again in life :o)

This year my friends and I had a progressive party, we started at one house for
appetizers, then another for dinner, then another for dessert.
It was a lot of fun. And no one had to do a ton of work.

I have used my Basic Grey Out of Print papers, lots of Maya Road, my Cricut,
and some stuff from my stash.
I have also used my 7Gypsies Disclaimer stamps - love those~!!! and a Fiskars punch.

I am linking up over at Get Picky - The theme is holiday, and the criteria is
to use at least 4 photos and add journaling.
Be sure to stop by and play along. Lots of fun to be had there!

Thanks for stopping by today :o)
Have a great day.

my girlfriends and playing with my paper. I hated to pack up and head back to town.

Today I have a DT layout for the ColourQ and the colors this week are some of
my favorites! Peaches and pinks are right up my alley :o)
I have used Pink Paisley and Echo Park papers, Sizzix dies, Dusty Attic,
my sewing machine, American Crafts ribbon, Jenny Bowlin paint dabber in
Chili Pepper, Technique Tuesday stamp, Tsukineko ink, and
some flowers and pebbles from my stash.

Here is the fabulous colour palette that we had to work with this week
