Road Trip - A Mini Album

Good morning everyone!
As you read this I am off to GASC in Arlington TX. I have been
looking forward to this for a while now and I am ready to go!
Well, as soon as I get packed I am ready, but you know what I mean!

Today I have a mini album that I made about my DD2s last road trip with her
college buddy. They went to the Renaissance Festival down in South Texas last fall.
They have going every year since they started college, and it is quite the adventure for them now.
They made (well I made if you want to be technical!) really great costumes last year
and they had a blast!

I have used a ton of Maya Road in this album,
along with the new Heidi Swapp papers and the new Creative Imaginations
Paint It papers.

Warning: Lots of photos!
The little bumpy beads on the charms are Websters, the others are Swarovski and craft supply.

I used so many different supplies I quit writing them down. If you want to know what something specific is
shoot me an email and I will let you know.

Thanks for stopping by today!

ColourQ #139 - I am so late!

Wow! I was so busy getting ready to go to the scrapbook convention this weekend
that I forgot to post my project today!

Today I have a card for the new palette up over at ColourQ these blues were so
yummy that I knew I wanted to make clouds with them.
And I had seen a wonderful card on Pinterest a while back
that had this sponging technique for the background.
So this is what I came up with

I have used cardstock from Stampin Up and Bazzill, along with some Kraft. Patterned papers: LYB,
stamps: Just For Fun, dies: Heartfelt Creations & Tim Holtz, punch: McGill,
twine: The Twinery, button: Basic Grey, ink: Tsukineko, stick pin: my own design

here is the wonderful palette that Arielle gave us this week
Be sure to stop by the blog and play along with us!
There is some wonderful inspiration up for you to look at -
those ladies are so talented!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!!!

Short Order Chef - Helmar

Howdy Fellow Bloggers, are you having a great Memorial Day?
We have had a pretty good holiday here.

I have been super busy getting ready for convention and
for day camp! I can't believe it has been a week since I blogged.
I promise I will do better this week :o)

Today I have a layout that I made with that May sketch over
at Helmar - it was a little different than what I normally do, but I
like the way it turned out.
I have used Bazzill and Stampin' Up cardstock, Prima, Basic Grey,
Tim Holtz die, MS punch, some bling, Tsukineko inks, Kaiser Craft sparkler and some felt from my stash.

Here is the sketch

I am also linking up over at Catered Crop where
the recipe this month is to use felt.
I have used some die cut felt across the bottom of both my photos.

Be sure to stop by and join in the fun. You have until June 10th to play along.

Beach Bum

Howdy blogging friends!
Wow, is it Monday already?? Where is the time flying to these days???
I cannot seem to keep up!

Today I have a layout I made for The Crafty Scrapper to go the Great American
Scrapbook Convention that will be here in North Texas soon.
I have used the sketch challenge over
at Once Upon A Sketch for my design.
My papers are Creative Imagination - Love them! The colors are so wonderful. This picture
is of my DD2 the day I picked her up after her freshman year at Texas A&M.
She was all tanned from spending a year on Galveston Island!

Here is the fabulous sketch I used
I have rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left to suit my photo.
The journal prompt was the theme "Mother" and I have journaled about how hard it is for
a mom to let go when her children are grown! That was so hard to let her
go off to college, even though I knew she was ready.
I tucked my journal card behind the layers of paper so it would be out of site,
I used a Ranger Manilla Tag and some netting from a fruit bag.

Thanks for stopping by today!

GASC in Arlington - Sneak Peeks

I am busy, busy with projects for The Crafty Scrapper the next week,
we are getting ready for the GASC in Arlington May31- June 2.

Today I have a sneak peek of my first project.
I love these papers from Prima  - they are so beautiful!
The colors are perfect, I new exactly what I wanted to do with them
as soon as I saw them.

Here is a little peek at the layout.
What do you think? If you are in the North Texas area (or anywhere close) be sure to stop by the
booth at the GASC in a couple of weeks and you can see the rest.
If you aren't near, I will post it on the blog afterwards and you can see it then.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Gussie's House - Quilted Book Cover

Happy Friday fellow bloggers! It is almost the weekend!!

Since it is Friday it is time for another Fabulous Friday Challenge
over at Frosted Designs - this week we are all about quilting.
I made this little book to preserve all the memories I had of my Gussie's (Grandmother) house while growing up.Gussie was quite the gardener and I get my love of playing in the dirt from her. When we bought our house years ago, I went and dug up flowers from her yard and planted them in mine. And when she passed away two years ago, I dug all her flowers and plants out before we sold her house. Those are my memories of her. Every time I am in the yard I think of her and the times we shared.

The cover is 13 X 6 1/4 and is made of heavy duty bookboard.

I used a screen printed paper bought at an art supply store to cover it. I used Jenni Bowling Paint Dauber to paint the edges of the bookboard.

I cut the paper into sections, inked everything and lined them up on my cover. I then taped them onto a piece of brown paper bag as a backing so I would have something to sew it onto. Once it was sewn I cleaned up the edges and glued the whole thing down to the bookboard.

The chipboard piece is from Leaky Shed Studios - love their stuff- I painted it with Tim Holtz Antique Brass distress paint and then used Inka Gold to give it a little color. The butterfly is an old acrylic one I had stuffed into the drawer, I stamped it with StazOn and painted it with Glitter Modge Podge.

Here are the pages - WARNING - lots of photos!!
I used K&Co for pretty much everything here except the kraft paper.
This paper is OLD, Old, old, Brenda Walton paper, with a butterfly cut out of the cover paper appliqued on (the whole quilting thing again!). The die cuts are from Authentique.
I loved this cow as a kid - it always cracked me up. I am going to scrapbook it one day soon.
Currently this little from is still sitting on my front porch. I may move him to the garden, but I like to see him everyday when I come and go.
I love these flowers, I have a running border of them about 65 feet long across my front yard. They are just starting to bloom.

There you have it, I have left out a few of the pages so I wouldn't bore you to tears!
Hope you enjoyed my little book  - thanks for stopping by today.

Have a fabulous weekend!!

Makes my Heart Smile - ColourQ #137

Hello fellow bloggers - I hope you are having a great week so far!
It is getting hot here in North Texas - I hope that is not an
indicator of how our summer is going to go!!

Today I have a layout made with the new palette at ColourQ
I always have trouble with any shade of purple, it is just not my favorite!
But I managed to get it in there.
My papers are WRMK & Bazzill and Stampin' Up cardstocks. I have also used
a manilla tag from Ranger, Prima flowers & bling, Basic Grey buttons & brads, Tsukineko inks,
die cut from Authentique, and some bling from random places.

Here is a look at this weeks palette
Be sure to join us this week! You have until next Sunday at noon
to link up your project over at ColourQ

Pinterest

Ok, seriously, I think I have wasted the entire weekend on Pinterest!!
That site is so addictive.
If I could ever get off of Pinterest, I might be able to get something done.
So you Pin? Are you as hooked as me? I am to the point where I start almost every conversation
with "today, while I was on Pinterest, I saw,,,,," and my
DH just rolls his eyes at me.
Poor man!

I am on the hunt now for some really cool things I saw this weekend.
I have been looking for some new storage to add to my studio,
and I found what I was looking for today.
I need this piece of furniture!!
This is a vintage mailroom sorting table and I need this for my Cinch.
I have been needing a table with storage to put along one stretch of wall
so I can keep my Cinch on it, and keep my supplies that I use with my Cinch and
a few other things there as well. This is perfect.
Now all I need to do is find one!

I will be back tomorrow with a new layout.
If I can get off of Pinterest long enough to finish it that is.

Celebrate - Quick Quotes

Whew!! We made it to Friday!!
I am ready for the weekend!!
This week seems like it has been one problem after another.
It has been crazy here. I need the weekend to scrap and get my
mojo back together!!!

Tonight I have a layout I made using the challenge over at Quick Quotes
which was fussy cutting.
I have used a variety of Basic Grey for this layout, along with some Bazzill, Prima, K&Co,
Offray, Martha Stewart punch, Cricut, Helmar 450, Quick Quotes Powder
Puff inks, EK Success punch, and a few little doo dads from my stash.

I fussy cut the birdcages from the Porcelain paper by BG and layered it onto the Sultry paper.

I used my Twinkling H2O's on the birdcages for a little extra color. The layered
flowers, ferns, and birds are all from K&Co.

The title was cut on my Cricut and inked with Tahiti powder puff ink, then black
VersaMark for a weathered look.

I have also used the sketch over at Sketchabilities for this projects
I added an extra picture and move the title around to suit my needs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Baby!

Howdy blogging friends!
How is your week going? Great I hope :o)
We are moving right along fairly smoothly here - we went and saw the
Avengers movie tonight, which was very good. If you haven't seen it it is worth the trip!

Today I have for you a layout I made using some of my stash. I am determined  to use
up the paper I have. I have bought I few of the new papers that have come out over the last year,
but for the most part I have been using the 5000+ pieces of paper that I already had!

I have used Basic Grey Out Of Print papers, button, and die cut stickers, Kraft paper, my EK Success punch, Prima flowers, Bazzill cardstock in Raven, my 7 Gypsies  Disclaimer stamps (my very favorite stamps of all time!!!!!!), my sewing machine and Tsukineko inks.

I used the sketch at Creative Scrappers for my layout
You have until June 1, 2012 to get your layout in for this challenge
so be sure to join in the fun.    Lynn Skopoles, my teammate from over at Frosted Designs
is the Guest Designer for this challenge, so be sure to check it out!

My Silly DD and Stuck On U Sketches

Happy Monday fellow bloggers!
Did you have a a great NSD? Did you get a lot of scrapping done?
I got in on a few challenges and got some scrapping done.

Today I have a layout of my DD2 - she was home on spring break during
her SR year of college and we had stopped at Sonic to get a snack.
She ordered a kids meal and was so thrilled to get the goofy toy!
I used a sketch from Stuck On U Sketches

I have used Pink Paisley papers from the Spring Jubilee line for this layout. I also used
Bazzill raven cardstock, some Prima, chipboard,Tsukineko Inks, my Cricut, MS flowers,
Basic Grey brads and a few other random things.

To color the chipboard I painted with Jenny Bowlin paint (Malted Milk), sprayed with
Glimmer Mist, then heat embossed with chunky powder. I used my sewing machine
 in a few places too.

I used a little bit of Maya Road zipper trim to frame my photos.
I sprayed my background papers with Glimmer Mist to give them a little more color.

Here is the sketch I used from Stuck On U Sketches

This layout was one I did for the Two Peas challenges over the weekend. I hope
you got to do some scrapping over NSD!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Emboss Resist Tags - Frosted Designs Crop

Howdy fellow bloggers! Are you having a great NSD so far?
Welcome to the second annual crop with Frosted Designs.
Hopefully, I am not your first stop on the crop today and you have
been enjoying the goodness all day long. Remember, the crop is on the Frosted Designs
BLOG and our Facebook Page, and it is going on all day today and tomorrow!

In order to participate in the prize drawing, you must post your project in the comments section of my post on the Frosted Design Blog and then leave a comment here on my blog.
You have until Midnight, Monday the 7th to get your project done.

My challenge for the blog is to make a project with resist embossing.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can see a tutorial on it on my blog
HERE and I have another layout with the technique HERE
For today I have some fun tags. I am thinking they will be perfect to use as gift tags!
For all three tags I have used the larger Ranger manilla tags and stamped them with the same stamp using VersaMark ink. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used phrase stamps from Dyan Reaveley on each of them.

I used a variety of spray inks and Inka Gold to add the color and show off the embossing.
For this tag I used a Prima mistable, some seam binding, beaded ribbon, flowers, beads, and pearls.

For this one, I also used the wings stamp from Dyan Reaveley, my star punch from Fiskars, some pearls and bling, chipboard butterfly - colored with Inka Gold, and Impression Obsession stamp.
This one has some ribbon, some old sheet music punched with my Fiskars scalloped heart punch, twine, button from Basic Grey, Pearls, Mica flakes, and stamp from Just Right stamps.

Here is a close up of the embossing. You can see how the clear embossing powder resists the color that I added, giving it a very nice look. This is a very easy technique to do - you will really like it!

Here is the RAK I am offering for for participating in my challenge

Be sure to keep an eye on the BLOG and the Facebook page thruout the weekend.
There will be challenges, games and RAKs. Lots going on!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to leave me a comment and follow my blog.
I will draw one random person from the comments for a RAK on May 12, 2012.

Have a great weekend~!

My Snuggle Bunny & ColourQ #135

Good morning everyone!
Please excuse the changes on my blog.
If you use Blogger, you are aware that we are getting a new interface.
I have been using the "New" interface since last year, and frankly I like it better.
HOWEVER- all of the sudden, the template I have been using for 3 years up and disappeared.
This is why the elements on my page have been mysteriously moving
around of their own accord.I finally figured this out at 2am this morning, and have been
working on the blog look. So it will be a few days before it gets back to where I want it to be. :o(

Today is Tuesday so there is a new palette over at ColourQ I loved this weeks colors,
even though they were not colors that I would have put together.
Arielle does such a great job!!

I started with a piece of white cardstock, which is something I almost never do. You know how I feel
about white space! My papers are Lily Bee Design and Bazzill cardstock. I have also used Prima stamps,
Pebbles chalks, Kaiser Craft bling, Basic Grey buttons, some chipboard from Michaels $$ bins, Glimmer Mist, other spray inks, seam binding, Prima and other flowers, my Tiny Attacher,
and the stick pin I made myself.
The little journal card in the center is LYB.
I have inked and sewn on the page and also done a little doodling just for fun.

Here is this weeks palette

Be sure to join us this week, you have until next Sunday at Noon to link up your
project over at the ColourQ Blog to be eligible to be crowned Colour Queen.

I also used the sketch from Lily Bee for my project
Very yummy, yes??? I love their papers, I need to buy more of them,
as I have used almost all that I have!

I am also linking up at Catered Crop

Catered Crop

Where the specialty of the week is the Letter "B" - I have used my Lily Bee papers,
and Buttons for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a wonderful week!
