Here is a look at my project for this month
This photo has a pearl finish and it is impossible to take a good photo of it!  My papers are from American Crafts, Hambly Studios, and Studio Calico. The die cut stickers are from Bo Bunny.

My sentiment is from the Ellie Retail Therapy #679 and I heat embossed with Black Detail EP171. In order to change the wording to what I wanted, I masked the word "we're" with washi tape before I inked the stamp. Remove the washi tape before stamping and the word is gone! I then added some very small alpha stickers to add the word "she's".
This sentiment is from the Camera Life #620 set and I heat embossed with Raspberry Tart EP451. I wanted to add a little more texture to my layout, so I used Faber-Castell® Whipped Spackle and a stencil to create the heart. When it is was dry I inked it with Galaxy Gold VersaMagic. I used foam tape to give the sentiment a little pop.

Christmas Kissing Ball with Smoothfoam

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a Merry Christmas!  It's Anita here today to share a fun Christmas project with you. We always have a kissing ball here at our house, and this year I decided to make one I could use year after year. So I pulled out a Smoothfoam ball and went to work.

Supplies:
3 3/8" Smoothfoam Ball
Paper flowers of varying sizes
Wired Leaves and decorative berries
1" Gold floral pins
Velvet Ribbon
Small stapler
paper piercer or small awl
Wire cutters
Beacon 3-In-1 Adhesive

1. Cut a  length of ribbon and fold in half; staple the open ends together about 1/2" from the ends. Spread the two small end pieces apart and pin to the ball using floral pins.
2. Start by stacking two flowers together. Push a floral pin through the center of the flowers then insert the pin into the ball. Continue adding flowers until the ball is covered.
TIP: Start with larger flowers to fill in the background, then add smaller flowers to cover the gaps.

 3. Make sprays of leaves and decorative berries. To secure, twist the wires together and wrap one of the wires around the others several times, very close together (this should be very close to the last leaf). Use wire cutters to clip the excess wire.
4. Use a paper piercer to poke a hole in the ball near the ribbon (move any flower petals out of the way). Apply glue in the hole and insert the end of the wires. Repeat for a total of 3 sprays, spacing them evenly around the top of the ball.
5. Shape the leaves in a downward direction.

Craft- Interupted The December Chaos

Howdy everyone! It has been a while since I blogged I know. It seems like I have been running around like a crazy person for the entire month of December.  Here is a look at the chaos- I hope your month was amazing.

First off, I decided to get new floors installed at Thanksgiving. (This is a bad idea- you should never do this, trust me!). So 2/3 of the house had to be packed up and moved into the remaining 1/3 of the house. LOTS of fun, let me tell you!

Here is the back dining room piled high with all the small furniture that could be moved easily.

Here is the living room after day two- the bedrooms and most of my studio furniture were shoved in here.

And here is most of my studio supplies- boxed up and piled in the spare bath.

On the upside- the new floors look really nice! Everyone say hello to Spanky dog, my old man poochy.

We used to have some awful, old, parquet in this entry area. So glad to see that stuff gone!

So the day after the finished the floors, I headed up to Seattle to visit my daughter for a few days. Bad timing- but it had already been planned. We had a great time.

We had  good time in the market- and ate the best croissants. Yummy- I love warm croissants!

The Chihuly Glass Center was amazing! Dear Mr. Chihuly, I would love a smaller version of this for my entryway- it would look fabulous there I promise!

So after I got back and got the rest of the furniture moved back into place, it was time to start the Christmas baking. Every year I make anywhere from 1000 - 1500 cookies and make trays for my family and friends.

The baking mess in full swing. I just felt like adding a layer of flour to the dust that is still hanging around from the floor installation.

Of course, the little princess needs lots of attention. She is just too dang cute to resist!

So, of course, all my attention is right here when she is around. She is 4 months old now, which is hard to believe!

Then the little princess got sick, and wasn't feeling well for a few days. She spent 3 and 1/2 days (and two nights) here at the house with Gramps and I, and let me tell you- Mimi is far too old to take care of an infant and get ANYTHING else done at the same time. I was super happy to have gotten the dishes washed on day!!

So now it is Christmas Eve and I still have to make a grocery list, wrap almost all of my presents and maybe mop the floor.

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas all my friends!

The 12 Tags of Christmas Day #3

Good morning everyone! Today is day #3 over at The Crafty Scrapper for our 12 Tags of Christmas and I have another tag to share with you.

I am not normally a tag maker, I am more of a 12x12 pg kinda girl - there is way more room to work with on 12x12 after all! But I am pretty happy with how my tags came out.

This tag came together very quickly! Other than the drying time for the embossing paste, it took me less than 5 minutes to pull this tag together. So even if you are in a hurry, you can create a fabulous tag for a gift!

I started by applying some texture to the top and sides using a stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste, then inked around the sides and added a few accents with my White Signo Pen.

I stamped my background image using VersaMark, then applied chalk in multiple colors for a subdued effect.  I added my sentiment using Black StazOn ink, and lots of ribbons and a button at the top to finish it off.

Be sure to check The Crafty Scrapper Blog everyday as we will have a new tag to share with you.

Thanks so much for stopping by today- have a wonderful week!

12 Days of Tags with The Crafty Scrapper

Good morning everyone, I am so excited to be part of this great event at The Crafty Scrapper!
We are going to have some amazing tags over the next 12 days, so be sure to check the blog each morning to see what is new!

Here is a look at my first tag

I started  with a Wendy Vecchi stencil and inked around the edges. Next up I used another stencil from Wendy along with her embossing paste and put the leaves on the background.

Once that paste was dry, I used the same stencil to apply some ink to the top of the paste, and heat dried. I used an older stamp from my stash for the sentiment, added some ribbons, flower and leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderful week!

Smoothfoam Challenge at The Crafty Scrapper

Good morning everyone, today I want to share some fabulous holiday decorations I made to hang in the front windows of The Crafty Scrapper. All of our Design Team was given some stars and snowflakes from Smoothfoam to play with. Here is what I came up with.

This is the larger snowflake, and I have really been wanted to whip out some paper cones for a project this year. I got out some vintage sheet music and got to rolling. I added some Stickles at the edge of each cone for a bit of sparkle, then layered some ribbon, doily and flower in the center.

This is the smaller star. I started by covering the entire thing in glue and vintage glass mixed with glitter. When it was dry I used Bo Bunny's Candy Cane Lane to cover the front and back, and added a bit of sparkle with some mica flakes pressed onto a chipboard that had been covered with double stick tape.

I covered the backside with more Bo Bunny papers, and the smaller pieces are trimmed from one of the journal card sheets.

For my second star, I wanted to go a little Disco Ball on it! I have a HUGE roll of these rhinestones and so I covered the entire star with Tear-ific Tape from Sparkle N Sprinkle, then used a template to cut and place the rhinestones. I pulled some ribbon and lace from my stash to make a bow.

I inked chipboard stars from Technique Tuesday, added some faux stitching and glued these to one point.

I used more Candy Cane Lane from Bo Bunny on th back, which I inked and added more faux stitching.

Christmas Card Holder with Foamology101

Good morning everyone- we are one week into December, I can't believe it!  Today I am participating in a hop with Foamology101 with the lovely creative people at Designer Crafts Connection and our theme is

Quick and Easy Holiday Decor

Use the logo on my sidebar to hop through the webring and check out all the crafty goodness!

I chose the Rigid Design Foam to make my project with. I wanted to make a display for all the Christmas cards I get every year and I new that this would be a quick project.

I wrapped the foam in a piece of fabric I have left over from a home dec project using the instructions provided (you can also see a video here).

I positioned a thin grosgrain ribbon in a diagonal pattern across the board, using push pins to hold them in place. I pulled a variety of black brads from my stash to secure the ribbons where they crossed. I poked a hole through the ribbon, fabric, and foam using a paper piercer and inserted the brad though, adding a bit of glue to the brad to hold everything in place.

I grabbed a bit of ribbon and some Christmas greenery for the corner. I resisted the urge to add a bunch of embellies to the board, because I want to have space for my cards!

Off course there is a prize to go along with the hop

Easy Kids Party Favor- DIY Christmas Time with Kids Blog Hop

Good morning everyone, today I have the pleasure of participating in a super fun hop

Christmas Time with Kids

I picked the Christmas Arts and Crafts Projects for Kids category to make a project from and here is what I came up with.

So, I still have 900+ of the 1000 glassine envelopes I ordered last year and I am always on the lookout for ways to use them up. I saw something like this on Pinterest and adapted it to fit my needs. We have lots of small kits come over during the holidays and having a quick craft prepared that they can make and take with them is always a good idea.

I pulled some patterned paper from my stash- I swear I am going to use all that stuff up! and a bag of embellishments I had on hand, some mini M&M's, the envelopes and adhesive. I did not use the punch pictured as the paper I used had a decorative edge to it already.

I cut the paper into strips using the pre-cut edge. Simple is what I am going for.

A small scoop of candy goes in the bag, then they get folded over as shown. I used my Tiny Attacher to secure them. The less glue we have to use the better in my opinion when it comes to a group of kids.

I applied a strip of double stick tape to the back of the paper, I will do this for all the paper before the party, and then all they have to do is remove the paper backing and apply over the edge of the envelope. I have a whole bag of misc embellies to use on the front.

Easy, peasy!

Vintage Theme Holiday Decor

Good morning! Who can believe that it is December already? Not me for sure. I don't know where tome has flown to this year!

Since it is the 1st Monday of the month it is time for the Designer Crafts Connection Blog Ring and our theme this month is Holiday Decorations. I decided to create something with a vintage vibe that I could use really anywhere in the house.

I started with a large snowflake from Smoothfoam, painted and distressed a bit. I grabbed some vintage sheet music and rolled cones to arrange in the center- getting the size right was a bit of a challenge, I wanted them to make a circle of a certain size!

I uses some music note washi tape to secure the cones, it kinda blends in and you really can't even see it. I added Stickles around the edges of each cone and set aside to dry.

I kept the center simple- I used a small paper doily and a big flower and glued those down in the center of the cones. Then I added a bit of ruffled ribbon.

I used a Viva Decor pearl pen to add some detail to the edges of the snowflake. Just to make the back look neat, I added a large paper doily.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Remember - it is only 25 days until Christmas- make them all count!
