Deconstructed Layout #12 Newborn Photo

Good morning everyone! Who can believe that it is almost the end of August?
Not me for sure!!  We new coming into the month that we would have a new baby by the end of the month,
and she made her appearance early on. She is the first grand child on both sides of
the family and well on her way to being very spoiled!

Today I have another Deconstructed Layout for Frosted Designs to share and a newborn photo to show off ;)
I am so loving the Capture The Moment Kit from Frosted Designs- I have made several layouts with it now and every single one looks different! Be sure to get one while they last.

Today I want to talk about using a LOT of the same color, without overwhelming your layout with it.
You CAN do it!

Here is a look at my layout. Of course, I had to have some pink on it. I used Prima papers from the Capture The Moment kit, and Princess Collection Kit.

This is my second layer from the bottom, and I love the pattern, but wanted more color. So after I punched the edges, I inked it- and I mean I really inked it! The ink extends about 2- 2.5" in from the edge.
I started with the lightest color of ink I wanted to use, then added a darker color of ink
just along the edge of the paper.

Next up, I used my VersaMark  around one side at a time, and added a bit of texture with Lindy's Stamp Gang Hibiscus Rose Orange Embossing Powder.

I also used Lindy's on my Blue Fern Studio's Chippie- this time Golden Angel Wings. You can see on the upper layer of paper, just under the chipboard, I stamped using the Heart Flourish Splash stamp and an ink one shade darker.  I added the small burlap flowers to the centers of a couple of larger flowers for the corners.

I added more flowers, butterfly and brad, all included in the Capture the Moments kit, to the lower corner.
I also added some faux stitching with my Signo White pen

This photo illustrates how I wanted to use my color how it all came together. For the most part my layout is a monotone, mainly PINK. However, I separated each layer of pink with a NEUTRAL. Starting from the corner there is;
1. The background page
2. the PINK punched page
3. the neutral flower die-cut and chipboard
4. the PINK edge of the punched paper
5. the white portion of the punched paper
6. the PINK cardstock
7. the photo
So, the moral of our story is this:
if you want to use one color in abundance, be sure to place it between layers of neutral colors
and it will be fabulous!

I hope you give this a try, and I would love to see how it turns out!

Beautiful Baby with Sparkle N Sprinkle

Happy Sunday everyone!
Another new week is here and it is my turn to share a project using the
amazing products from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I started with a piece of Bazzill Vanilla CS- which is my newest favorite color- and added some texture with  stencil and molding paste. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled it with Bubblegum GL. I sprayed my doily with Dylusions and set that aside to dry.

I added some accents around the page using the Flourishes 2 stamp set and Buttercup Petal EP.  On the white rose I added glue to the edges of the petals, and dipped them in Peruvian Lily GL.
The beautiful die cut accents are from Kaisercraft.

Once the doily was dry, I stamped randomly on it using the Crystal Medallion stamp and adhered to the layout using Tear-ific Tape.

Love, love, love how much sparkle the glitter adds to the molding paste!!

These beautiful Crystal Accents are from Mon Ami Gabby. They are so easy to add to your projects and look so pretty. Love them!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have an amazing week!

Deflecto USA Ambassador Design Team

Hi everyone!
Today I am happy to announce that I am a member of the
brand new, amazing,

I am so honored to be a part of this team with such a talented group of ladies.
We have some incredible projects coming your way and today I am sharing my first one with you.

I used the Classic Image 8 1/2 x 11  Stand Up Sign Holder for my project. Because I wanted to add my changeable numbers on top, I adhered the paper right to the front of the frame.

I am so in love with these little dancing witches and cats! I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut all the images and words on the project, and Tsukineko inks to shadow them.

I used vintage flash cards that I picked up at a tag sale years ago to make my number cards. I stamped each one and inked the edges, then punched them all at the same time. I used the smallest Command Hooks that I could find to hang them on- this way I can just change them out each day.

Be sure to check out the Deflecto Facebook Page.

Have an amazing rest of the week!

Love This Day Frosted Designs Chevron Challenge

OK, so this is the second time in two weeks that Blogger has deleted the contents of my scheduled post and posted a BLANK blog post!! I do not know what is going on :(

Happy Friday everyone!
I hope are you ready for the weekend and have amazing plans!

Today we have a new challenge up over at Frosted Designs
and it is all about CHEVRONS!

Here is a look at my project
So, you knew it wouldn't take me long to get a layout of my new grand daughter done!
This photo was taken when she was about 20 minutes old.
I have used papers and embellishments from the Capture the Moment Kit available at Frosted Designs.
I cut the background paper using my Cameo.

For my banner I used Um WOW Studios Chipboard, also available in the store, and covered them with vintage sheet music. The large flowers here come in the Capture the Moment kit.

The washi tape is Hazel & Ruby, and the ribbon and sticker on the photo are both part of the kit.

The scallop trim here is from a Maya Road pocket- I just cut this little piece off. All the other elements shown are also from the kit.

I added a little accent from the Elle's Studio Love You More Stamp

The little stamp on the edge of the photo mat is from the Elle's Studio Everyday Moments Stamp.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
ARTistic Challenge Blog- use Fabric- I have used a fabric ribbon
Let's Get Sketchy - Mood Board- loved the colors!

Um WOW Studios- August Sketch, of course I moved things around,
and added things, you know how it goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Here is a look at my project,,,.
I was so lucky to receive three great dies from Die-Versions and I loved them all! The Christmas Tree was my fave I think though! I started with Bo Bunny Silver and Gold papers to make my layout. I cut the top paper by hand in a random shape, inked it and then distressed the edge. I adhered it to the bottom layer of paper using 1/2" Tear-ific Tape.

My stars are Technique Tuesday; I heat embossed them using Halo EP, then stamped with Crackle Background Stamp. The blue die-cut under my photo is from EONS ago, from a K&Co set- I just wanted a little bit of blue to match the ornaments on my tree in the photo!

I had big fun with the Delicate Tree die! I cut it from white textured CS, sprayed it with two colors of Dylusions ink, then used my Sakura Glue Pen and Luau Green GL to add some accents to it. Love how it turned out!

I cut the edges off a couple of doilys, sprayed them with Memories Mist Bright Gold, then when dry I ruffled them and glued them under the edge of the top layer of paper.

To accent my photo, I cut the Scrolly Bow die from Sticker Paper, removed the backing paper and burnished with Gypsy Red GL. My title is the Deck The Halls Sweek Wordlets- these are so tiny, but so cute!

I used the Scrolly Bow die a second time, this time using red sparkle CS.
This photo also shows the coat of Iridescent Memories Mist that I sprayed over pretty much the entire layout- including the edges of the photo as a finishing touch. I love how this looks, esp on holiday layouts!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Smoothfoam Blog Hop with Clearsnap!

Welcome to the Clearsnap and Smoothfoam Blog Hop! Hop along to each blog in the hop list to see inspiring ways to use Smoothfoam with Clearsnap’s ink, created by our teams of designers. Be sure to comment on each blog in the hop, then use the Rafflecopter widget at the end of this post to enter to win a prize pack of Smoothfoam and Clearsnap goodies!

If you arrived from Meihsia Liu - Simply Paper Crafts   then you are on the right track. If not you might want to go back to the beginning and start over.
The list is at the bottom of the post!

Clearsnap graciously sent me 4 bottles of their Spritzers! I was super happy, because I had not had a chance to play with these yet. I wanted to make a wall hanging for a quote. So I started with a 12x12 x 5/8 Scrapbook Page Mount. I gave it a coat of gesso and set it aside to dry.

Once it was petty dry, I sprayed a coat of Glacier Lake Spritzers and used a paintbrush to spread it around, just like I was painting. I wanted a fairly even coat of the ink for the background. Then I gave it a few more spritzes.
AND THE MOST AMAZING THING HAPPENED!!!!
Do you see how it looks, seriously, like a galaxy, with the white spots?
IT DID THAT ON IT'S OWN!!!!
No kidding. The ink just kind of moved around on the gesso, and it looked like that.
BAM- background done.

I am so super happy with how cool this is, the hubs will be lucky if I don't surface the living room walls with gesso and start spraying it with ink. Really.

I wanted to add a little bit of a darker color in there too, so I held the bottle
of Moody Blue VERY close to the Smoothfoam and gave it a spritz here and there.
This took a while to dry. I helped it along with a heat gun a little bit (held a long way from the surface, we are working with Smoothfoam after all), but in the end I had to just set it under the ceiling fan and let it dry. When it was 30 seconds from dry, I sprinkled Microfine Glitter on small sections here and there to add a little sparkle.

I used chipboard alphas for my quote and I inked them with my
Colorbox Cat's Eye Metallic Inkpad in Silver. I accented with a Signo White Pen.

For my star I used a Smoothfoam 1x6x12 Sheet, traced a star on it and cut it out. I sanded it to the shape I wanted, painted with glue and covered with
Sonic Silver Velvet Glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle. For my star trail, I applied Glossy Accents to the background and added a mix of glitter and micro beads (you know you still have some, don't judge me!). When that was dry I added a few mini brads.

To accent the corners I used chipboard pieces from Blue Fern Studios, sprayed them with more Glacier Lake and Moody Blue and accented with a white pen.

So there you have it!
I am super happy with how this turned out. I added some seam binding around the edges to finish it off, and some ribbon at the top to hang it from.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
