Delicious Gooeyness

Is "Gooeyness" even a word? I'm not sure, but that is the word my DD used to decribe
the mess she made the other day for lunch. When I saw the microwave Velveeta she was
about to eat I told her "Heather, that is GROSS!!!"
Her response was "no - it is delicious GOOEYNESS!"

Well you know I had to scrap THAT!
I have used Basic Grey Out of Print papers, Prima, Maya Road and a couple of others from my stash.

Here is a look at the fabulous sketch
Please hop on over to the blog HERE to see the other great things going on at Helmar - if you haven't tried their adhesives yet, you are missing out!

A Little Halloween Treat........

Halloween is almost here, that means I need to get it together and finish my treat bags for the neighborhood kids. Today I have a couple I have made for my DD and the co-conspirator next door. I think these are very cute and they are going to love them!
I am linking up today to Scrapbookers Anonymous  for the mini challenge.
Here are my little treat bags.
Treat bag one - which will be given to Thing One
and Treat bag two, which will be given to Thing Two.
I have used some OLD, OLD OLD paper for this project, - it is
Teresa Collins from JUNKITZ if that tells you how old it is!
For the mini-challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous the challenge is anything with "the letter C" so I have used my Cuttlebug to cut and emboss my Core'dinations paper and my rosettes.

I am also entering the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone :o)

My Very Favorite Photo

This photo is my favorite photo of all time. I like it more than any of my wedding photos even.
This is both of my DD's and my Daddy. It has a horrible background,
but I never see that. I just see three of the people I love the most.
Daddy passed away 4 years ago, so this picture is always close to me.
I have finally scanned it and scrapped it,
here it is on my LO - sorry it is so girly - but it does have my two babies on it!!
(Sorry about the crummy lighting, it is very rainy here - no sunshine at all today)
I have used papers from Prima and Glitz (the background paper), my embellies are Prima, Hambly screen prints, Dusty Attic, some random chippies and other stuff from my stash.
My chippies were painted with Jenni Bowlin paints, then splashed with Glitter Glam from Tattered Angels.
The butterfly also got a dose of distress paint from Ranger and some stickles.
The title block I cut on my Cricut, and the letters I cut with some OLD sizzix dies.

My sketch is from Stuck On U Sketches  - they have some great ones.
Have you been there to check them out yet???? You should go now!!
Here is the sketch
I flipped it 90 degrees to fit my picture, and as you can see I didn't do a fall theme.
I am all out of fall / Halloween pictures!!

I am also entering this into the challenge over at Bird Is The Word where the challenge
word is "WISH" which I have used in my title.
If you haven't been to Bird Is The Word you are missing out! If you are stuck for
a Journal prompt, this is the place to check out!!

Thanks for stopping by - I am off to grill burgers and watch the Rangers!!!
Go Rangers!!!
Have a great weekend!

My Halloween Hat

I love Halloween. Growing up it was the holiday that my Mom went all out for.
My girls went Trick-or-Treating until they were grown.
I still decorate the yard and house and give out candy - LOVE IT!
I don't dress up any more, seems like I am always too busy, but I do have this great witch hat that I
made and I love to wear it all over on Halloween.

Of course, I had to use my scrapbooking supplies - how could I not?????
I love my Prima Flowers - they were so perfect for this hat. I used Glue Dots to stick them down
and to attach the ribbon to the hat I used fabric glue.
The beaded trim is from the home dec department of the fabric store. I attached it with Glue Lines - that is the best stuff on earth if you have never used it.
I used the Mini Glue Dots to stick down the little
Halloween balls. They are lightweight plastic so this was perfect.

I can't wait until this weekend so that I can pull my hat out for another year!
What are you doing for Halloween? I would love for you to leave me a link so I can check it out!

Have a great week!

Sweet Dreams Princess, Sketches in Thyme DT Call

Hello blogging friends! I hope your weekend was spectacular!!!
I cannot believe it has been almost a week since I posted last!
Time flies when you are remodeling let me tell you.
We are on the the very LAST stage of the kitchen remodel from hell.
This remodel started last NOVEMBER. Yes, that is right, last November. And the backspash tile arrived via UPS on Friday, I will be picking up the rest of the trim this afternoon for the backsplash and we will be able to call it done for all practical purposes later this week.
So happy I cannot tell you. I will post a few pics when I am done with it!

So, on to my Lo for today~~~ If you have followed my blog for any length of time you know that I do not scrap in any order. I  am all over the place!!! Todays LO is of my older DD when she was two. I have used sketch #178 from over at Sketches in Thyme ,,,here is my take on it
I have used my Websters papers for this one along with a little piece of Bazzill cardstock. My flowers are from Prima, my stash and the craft department, the acrylic star is from Clear Scraps.
The balloons I fussy cut from The Delivery I used one from the 12X12 and one from the 6X6 sheets. I covered up the Christmas elements on them with other embellies.
For my title I used Maya Road chippies which I painted with a variety of mediums and embellished .
My newest fascination is stick pins and I made these to look a little royal to carry my theme.

Here is the sketch I used from Sketches in Thyme
If you are interested in trying out for the DT - you have until Oct 31 to get you LO entered.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great week!

ColourQ #107

Happy Tuesday Fellow Bloggers!

Today I have my DT layout for ColourQ ~ the colors this week just yelled out
Halloween, but I have scrapped all of my Halloween photos!
So I went with a Christmas layout instead.

I have used Bazzill and SU cardstocks, Creative Imaginations, Prima, Making Memories,
Karen Foster, Tattered Angels, Fiskars, Maya Road and Tsukineko inks.
The trees were cut from a sheet of OLD Creative imaginations paper. The wonderful
textured paper that they are on top of ~ I just received in a SWAP. I love it!

Here is a look at this weeks Palette
I did add a little bit of silver to my colors to carry off my Christmas theme.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Scrap-It-Lah : Fussy cutting, hand stitching, and printing something from the internet (whew!)
Scrapbookers Anonymous : Die Cutting

Words You Never Want to Hear

As a Mom there are some phrases we never want to hear,
"Mom, guess what I flushed down the toilet?"
"Is the dog supposed to be eating that"
"How come your arm is bent like that"
you know,,,,, those little phrases that strike terror in your heart.
As your kids get older, the potential for trouble grows let me tell you.
Nothing can stop a mother's heart like the words
"Mom,,,,, I've had a wreck,,,,
the ambulance is on the way"
That is the phone call I got last week from my DD.
She is fine, just a little beat up from the airbag.
But I don't think I will ever be the same.
I have used Bazzill cardstock, Prima, Offray, Recollections, Faber-Castrell,
Jenny Bowlin paint, stickles, some random bling from my stash and
pearlescent inks that I dripped randomly.
I used my Cricut to cut the large grid and the swirly mat behind the photos.

I am linking this up over at Once Upon A Sketch where the challenge was to journal
two events that had happened to you in the last week.
I only got the one on here, this really consumed the whole week!
Mom was a wreck too.

A Little Birthday Help

Howdy fellow bloggers!
I hope your weekend was wonderful! We actually saw
water fall from the sky here in Dallas - it has been so long since that happened
I almost didn't know what it was!
Today I have a very cute little mini album that I made to keep track
of Birthdays through the year. Even though I write them on the calendar, I always
seem to forget someone!
I am hoping that this cute little book will help a little.
I used a LOT of Teresa Collins stuff in this book and a few others as well.
Here's a look,,,
The covers are Teresa Collins Tab File Covers.
I bought a BUNCH of these when they first came out.
I love them - so versatile! The papers that I used were a mix from a couple of
Teresa Collins lines, as well as MME - one of my faves right now!
I am entering this into the challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous where the
challenge this month is Die Cutters and I have used a bunch in this little album.
I have used a bunch of these butterflies that you see here thru out the book.
I cut these on my Cricut using MME papers. The calendar pages themselves are from
a die-cut sheet of paper as well. Each month has it's own page, and they
slip out of the page protector so that I can write the names/dates down.
Here I used the die cut and inked around it to leave the negative space.
It is a little hard to see in the photo, but the black and pink polka dot paper
was cut into the scallop shape on my Cricut machine.
The die cut folder on the right is from Teresa Collins, as is the smaller one
that is glued down flat as a mat.
I left a little blank space in the album, to jot down random thoughts.
And I LOVE those little cut-out sayings that I have used on each page
(which really was my reason for making the book, I needed an excuse to use those
cute little cards) it is a set of "Things Your Mother Said" from Crafty Secrets.
Funniest things I have ever seen!

I hope you like my little book. I would love to know what you think - please leave me a comment :)
Be sure to stop by Scrapbookers Anonymous to see the other fabulous projects that are posted there.

Thanks for hopping by and have a great week!

The Crafty Scrapper

Howdy Folks!
You know, when it is State Fair time, you just have to say that - in Big Tex's
big deep voice no less!

If you live anywhere in North Texas, you surely have heard of and been to
the The Crafty Scrapper - it is by far the coolest paper crafting store in the area.
And I say paper crafting because they encompass far more than scrapbooking. They
have all kinds of cool stuff in there for all kinds of art. Love the Maya mists that they have
been carrying - very fun to play with. They have some great instructors - if you can get
down there to take a card class with Frank he does some wonderful things
with Copics I know. I know Frank from way back in the day  - when he
used to come to the crops at the J's where I worked.
The Crafty Scrapper has the biggest selection of Maya Road stuff I have ever seen.
You should go.
It is where I get my fix.

Now, mind you, I am not saying all these wonderful things about them
just because I happened to be featured on their BLOG :O) !!!
No never!!!
I really do like the store. And how fortunate for me, that in order to get to my
Mom's house, I have to drive right by it~! Well, I do have to get off the highway,
and drive about 5 minutes, but in the interest of great paper and stuff, what
is a 10 minute detour????
So go check them out. And if you are in North Texas, drive yourself right on
down to Waxahachie and take a look see. There are some great places to have lunch,
so you can make a day out of it.
The Dove's next right next door is wonderful.
Tell 'em I sent you.

Have a great week!

ColourQ #105 and One of My Posse

Hello everyone - how is your Tuesday?
Today I have a LO with the ColourQ #105 .
I ran across a quote on Pinterest (my newest addiction) a couple of weeks ago, and I
instantly thought about my dear friend! I knew I had to use it on a LO about her :O)
Here is what I have come up with
I have used cardstock from Bazzill and Stampin' Up. The chipboard frame is from CI,
the ribbons are from SU, Websters, and May Arts. Everything else is from my stash.
To get that background texture on the black cardstock inside the chipboard frame:
1. I stamped with Cotton White StazOn ink
2. I stamped again with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder
3. I did not try to line anything up - it was very random. I wanted them to be off so
that it would have that depth of texture.

Here is a look at our color palette this week

Aren't those beautiful colors? Arielle always does such a great job with them!

I am also entering this in the challenge over at Stuck On You Sketches where the
challenge was "Hearts". I have used a heart die cut mounted to a chipboard
in the middle of my bow, and although they are hard to see, I have also used two
really cute little heart stick pins from Heidi Grace - they are sticking out of the top of the bow.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Canvas Art - with recycled items

Happy Saturday fellow bloggers! Hopefully your weekend is going wonderfully!
The weather here is wonderful today, such a beautiful change of pace from the 100 degree days
we have been having - what a luxury!

Today I have a piece of art that I have made from some recycled items. The theme over at Paper Issues   is "tree hugger", so I wanted to use something up. Here is what I have created,,,
I have used a 16X16 canvas, the background I painted with Claudine Hellmuth paints,
sprinkled it with glitter to match, added a few beads, splotched it
with a little sparkle of gold leaf, and some pearlescent liquid acrylics.

I used toilet paper rolls that I cut into 1 inch sections, then I glued them into flowers.
Once I had  them arranged like I wanted I glued them all together.

Well, I left out a step it seems! I forgot to add that I spray painted the whole thing after I glued them together, but before I attached it to the canvas! Sorry about that :o) That is why my TP rolls are silver and not brown.

I was pretty happy with how it turned out - now I just need to figure out what to do with it!
I think that someone is getting this for Christmas :o)

Be sure to check out Paper Issues  to see the great projects that have been linked up
over there. There are some wonderful things!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!
