Bridging to Cadettes- Part 1

Howdy blogging friends!
How have you been???
I have missed all my virtual friends these last couple of weeks.
I am slowly on the mend and getting better eery day.

Since I am still on pain medication I have not
attempted to do too much scrapping!

I have doodled around in the studio a bit here
and there, but mostly I spend my time
lying on the couch and letting The Hubs wait on me :o)
Not a bad deal really!

I wanted to share a layout I finished up. I started this when I was
at retreat in August, but I just couldn't file it away as "done" -
it needed a "little something".
I FINALLY figured out what it needed and finished it up.
One more Girl Scout Layout down!!!
I have used some older Bo Bunny papers for this one.
I really wanted to express the passage of time and these papers were PERFECT!

I used my Cricut for the title, bling is from Recollections, and the
journal card was fussy cut from the PP.
I fussy cut the clocks out of coordinating paper and scattered them
around my layout. A little spritz of mist on the background helped to
finish the layout off and the brads are Bo Bunny.
Now you know white pace is my enemy and I think this is why I couldn't put this one away -
I had this large space in the center that was making me nuts!
MUST FILL IN WHITE SPACE!
So I grabbed my favorite set of 7 Gypsies stamps and filled in.

Yes, I know I typo-ed the journaling, but such is life.
I had my years mixed up!!

And look - it is relatively FLAT! Yeah - mission accomplished.
This whole making flat pages is killing me!
I need to finish of this project and go back to making
lumpy pages again,,,,,, soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I have another post-op check up tomorrow,
I am really hoping that I will be freed from the couch.
But it isn't likely. He told me two full weeks, maybe three.
Very. Big. Drag.
Seriously.

Frosted Designs New Store- Check it out!!

Hello everyone. I am recovering well
from my tonsillectomy. This involves a lot of lying on the couch,
drinking ice water, and taking my meds.  Of course
I do have The Hubs hovering over me like I am
going to expire at any minute, but that is not so bad :o)

I wanted to take a minute and let you know about a new Scrapbook Supply
store that I think you will LOVE!

Frosted Designs has opened an online store and
there are lots of goodies to be found!
Barb will also be offering two different kits
one for scrapbooking and one for Mixed Media.
These kits are AWESOME, I just received my advance MM kit
and I am loving the stuff in it.

Please stop by and take a look at all the wonderful things they have!

I will be back to my normal self sometime next week I hope and
will be posting regularly again.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Halloween Mini Album with Authentique Thrilling

Good morning boys and girls, or afternoon, whatever.
I think I am finally caught up and able to take a breath!
I have everything on my list done and can rest
for a day before going in for surgery.

Today I wanted to share the second half of a class project
that will be available as a kit at the The Crafty Scrapper
Due to my recovery time I will not be able to teach this one
in person, but you can get a kit - no matter where you live!
So give them a ring in you want one :o)

I have used the fabulous Thrilling paper line from Authentique
This little album was made entirely from the two 12x12 sheets of journal blocks
and the die-cut sticker sheet. Super simple, but lots of space to add
those fun Halloween photos.

The album is 4x6 and I used a single
binder ring to keep the pages together.

This paper line had the cutest vintage feel to it!!

There are several more pages to the album, it is just darlin'
if I do say so myself!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to have a look see.

May the Flamingos be with you!

Girl Scout Sunday

Hello, hello blogging buddies!!
I hope you have had a wonderful weekend so far!
Mine had been pretty fast, I am trying to get
a lot of things done before I go in for surgery this Friday!!!
I am hoping that my household stays intact with the hubs in charge.

Today I have another layout from my Girl Scout Album
to share. This field trip was pretty much an annual event for us.
Scout Sunday is hosted by all the churches here in out town
and they recognize all the Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops.

I have used Echo Park papers for this along with some Bazzill Raven cardstock.

The flower is Bo Bunny and the acetate petals in the back are from an
old, OLD, OLD Heidi Grace sheet. I am determined to use up all the stuff I bought!
I used Art Glue and silver glitter to edge the flower.
I borrowed my buddies GINORMOUS punch for this pennant!
My stamps are from Basic Grey, the chipboard is Um WOW Studios and
I have heat embossed all the pieces.
This stamp is Maya Road, the bird rub on is Creative Imaginations.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Stuck Sketches - I rotated the sketch and used only one photo
Paper Lovers Studio - Recipe: 3 pattern papers, background stamping,
punched shape, handwriting (it is hard to see, but the pink paper does
have a pattern on it, look below the photo)

Thank so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful week!!!

Holiday Journey Sneak Peeks

Good morning everyone!
Yes, it is 3am and I cannot sleep for some reason :(
Which is bad, because the cat has to be at the vet at 8am!!!

But since I am wide awake I might as well blog, right :o)

I am teaching at an event hosted by The Crafty Scrapper
the first weekend of November called The Holiday Journey.
This is going to be an awesome weekend! We will have Caroline Lau from Maya Road
and Carolyn Ross from The Crafty Scrapper teaching a class- fabulous-
and there will be two more classes; Gena is teaching one and I am teaching the other.

We will have MNT's and cropping Friday night,
and all three classes on Saturday.
Fun filled weekend all the way around!

Here are a couple of peeks at my projects;
I will be teaching a December Daily Album using
Teresa Collins new line along with LOTS of Maya Road!!
This little book is jam packed full of surprises!!

I went very vintage with my MNT, using antique sheet music,
burlap, ric-rak and lots of glitter! This little thing is super cute!!

I can't wait for this event to get here!
We have some great sponsors for the event including Maya Road,
Teresa Collins, Crate Paper, Xyron, and others.

Everyone think good thoughts for me- I go in on Friday the 13th
to have my tonsils removed :o(
I am soooo not looking forward to this.
Bleh.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Only 2 more days until the weekend!

Service Project with ColourQ #205

Hello scrappy friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
I have been absent a bit lately as you may have noticed.
I have been having some issues with my tonsils, and
I am so sad to say, they have to come out. Yes, at my age I
am having my tonsils taken out. Ouch.
Still waiting on the DR to schedule, but we think this
will happen next week. :o(

Do you "like" my Facebook Page ?
I have some great candy up for grabs when I hit 300 likes
over on my page. I am only a few away from that, so please stop
by, like my page and share with your friends!

Anyhoo- today we have a new palette up over at ColourQ

These colors were a bit of a challenge for me,
blue and gray are not high on my color list!
Eventually it all came together. Here is a look at my project,,,
My background paper is Kaisercraft, all my other papers and
die-cuts/stickers are from Authentique.
These chippies are from Dusty Attic; I heat embossed them with a couple of
different powders for an aged look. Flowers are from I Am Roses.
I also took the wire stems I cut from the flowers, coiled them into little vines
and added them to the flower clusters.
The alphas are from Authentique, the chippie is from Want2Scrap
and it has been heat embossed as well.
I really wanted to use this die-cut arrow, but the letters were more of a
rust color- I took a journal pen and went over them to make it match.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Southern Girls - Warn Fuzzies - whats more warm and fuzzy than
cute Girl Scouts handing out Valentine cards? Seriously!
The Paper Girls - use wire

Be sure to link up your project over on the blog
before noon next Monday!

Thanks for stopping by today!
