Here is a look at my project using the new Camera Life and Journal Mixed Media Sets
How cute is my DD1 here?? My diabolical sister sent this noise making device to her for Christmas.
I started with a plain piece of cardstock, which is pretty rare for me. I sprayed Memories Mist Bright Gold in a line across the page, letting it drip.

I sprayed more Bright Gold onto my craft mat and used that to stamp the background from Journal Mixed Media. I then used VersaMark to stamp the circle shape and heat embossed with Mediterranean Blue EP.

I left some of the spray in damp, so that when I put the EP on it it would
randomly stick giving a grunge look.

I love the new Camera Life set!! So fun! I used my Cameo to cut my image out, and then cut the matching heart from red cardstock.

For my chippies, I heat embossed with one color, then added detail around the edges using a VersaMark pen and a second EP.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I hope you are having a great start to you summer :)

My 1st post for Smoothfoam- Baby Shower Centerpieces

Hi everyone! It's Anita here and I am so happy to be posting for the first time as a
DT Member for Smoothfoam!!!

My DD1 is having her first child later this fall, so of course I must use my craftiness to make shower decorations. She is using a Minnie Mouse theme, so I knew that I could make something amazing with Smoothfoam balls. (and thank goodness she changed, because she wanted Pink Transformers- which just made my head hurt thinking about)

To make these for yourself you will need:

Paint your clay pots and then press a Smoothfoam cube into the pot, making sure it is secure.

Add the smaller balls to the larger balls, trimming just a bit off of each to give a better fit.

I think this one is my favorite- love that black tulle tucked in there!

Here is a look at all 4 of the centerpieces I made

Simple Pleasures- SNS

Hi everyone,, I hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Weekend!
To anyone associated with a service member- current or former- thank you for you service!

Today I have another project for Sparkle N Sprinkle to share
This is DD2 when she was a Girl Scout Camp Counselor- way back in the day!
My papers are vintage ones from my stash, Heidi Swapp.
I started by stamping the new Travel Mixed Media stamp straight down the center of the page.

I used the Garden Silhouettes stamp set for my flowers. I heat embossed with Tuscan Sun, then covered the entire flower with VersaMark and embossed again using Stickum Powder. Finally I burnished with a mix of Daisy and Bubblegum glitters.

Here it is from another angle, you can see how using the Stickum Powder allows the embossed edge to still show, even though the entire piece is covered in glitter.

I applied a Super Adhesive Sheet to white cardstock,  die cut it with my Cameo in the heart shape, then burnished with Peruvian Lily GL.

The sentiment is from the Garden Silhouettes, I stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed using Detail Black EP, I wanted to show how amazingly crisp the Black Detail EP is - love the way is looks!

Deconstructed Layout #6 Love You

Good morning blogging friends!!

Today I have another layout for my new series at Frosted Designs

Today we are talking about adding texture to you chipboard.
You know I love chipboard, and I love to alter it.

Here is a look at my layout
How yummy are these Prima Papers?? Of course, they are available in the Frosted Designs Store
I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals from the Nantucket Pearls set to make a spray for my
background. I love the Cape Cod Coral - one of my favorites!

I wanted to use this chippie from Blue Fern Studios, but I wanted a bit more
"something" to it.
Out come the art supplies- I used Gloss Gel, which dries clear, and some
old, old, old, glass Micro Beads that have been hanging around forever.
You know you have some too, so don't judge.
The iridescent medium is optional- but it adds a little bit of shine to the final project.

Mix up a little bit of everything in a cup,,,,,,,

and apply. Now, this is a serious pain to apply. My method is to get a little bit onto a flat
brush, and basically wipe it off onto the chipboard a little at a time. Spreading it is
out of the question because it just gets everywhere!
Set aside to dry for about an hour, then give it two good coats of Heidi Swapp
Color Shine in Gold, drying between each coat with a heat gun.

And this is what it looks like- nice, huh?

And since I had this super nice piece of chipboard, I couldn't
leave the other chipboard plain so,,,,,,
I heat embossed with Gold, then used StazOn to stamp a crackle pattern on it.
(I ended up using StazOn Black- not the Brown)

It ends up with a nice, aged/vintage look.

Here are a couple of other shots of my layout.
I mixed the Cape Cod Coral in a Mini Mister with water and sprayed, then sprayed
randomly with Dylusions White Linen.

I used several of the die cut stickers from the paper pack to accent my photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Spring Irises- Sparkle N Sprinkle

Welcome to Sparkle N Sprinkle's May Reveal.
Our website was not playing nicely, so we are a bit late showing off our May projects with the new images.

In honor of Mother's Day I have a layout today showing off
the fabulous German Irises I dug out of my Mother's yard many years ago.
These irises are so beautiful and HUGE!!

Here I used multiple coats of EP to get this ultra thick texture.

I used the sentiment from Garden Silhouette to accent around the edge of my layout.

Here I used another sentiment from Garden Silhouettes, and I love the look the Mojito EP gave my chippie!!

My second layout for this reveal uses the new Leafy Flourishes stamp set
Ok, so DD2 and I were at a local small town festival, and of course we have
PIG RACES at these things- and we gotta go to the Pig Races,
because we LOVE Pig Racing! Anyway, the guy was selling theses uber cute
pig snouts and you know that was the photo opportunity of a lifetime
waiting to happen right there!

mmmm,,, DD2 does not seem as overjoyed by the pig snout as I was!
I used the lg flourish behind my photo and heat embossed with Raspberry Tart EP.

For my background color I sprayed Memories Mist Blue Martin directly on the paper, then
I sprayed Memories Mist Cherry Smoothie into a small cup and dripped it on the paper
using a paint brush.

Oceans of Fun- New Echo Park Papers

Howdy blogging friends!
How is the weather where you are?? Isn't it super freaky this year?
I have a friend in Colorado that got snow yesterday! It has been raining
here for days and the temp is down to the low 60s today. Not that I am complaining!

Today I have a new layout for The Crafty Scrapper to share
using some really cute new Echo Park Papers!!

How cute is this new paper!!! It is Summer Adventures from Echo
Park- be sure to get yours before it is all gone! If you are not near the store, remember- they ship!

I used a stencil and Molding Past to add some texture to my background. The flowers are Vintage Prima
and the chipboards are BLue Fern Studios, and they have been embossed using Sparkle N Sprinkle EPs.

I used my Cameo to make my layered title using Bazzill cardstocks.
So you have a Cameo and want to learn more ways to use it? I will be teaching a series of classes
on how to use your Cameo starting in June/July.

The journal card is also from the same paper line, and I used torn
strips from the line to make a layered mat for my photo and
inked them with Powder Puff ink from Quick Quotes.

The word art here is trimmed from one of the Journal Cards, and I added a little bit of bling down each edge to make it pop. In the upper corner I used a square chippie from MME to accent- I cut it in half so it would fit where I wanted it. These are also available at the store.

I am linking up at the following challenges:
Quick Quotes- use torn paper
Use Your Stuff - use ribbon/fibers

thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful week and may the Flamingos be with you!

Tutorial using Chipboard and Layers- Wonder

Hi to all my friends in blogland!

Today I have a new layout to share for
The Crafty Scrapper's May Blog Challenge

This month the challenge is to
USE LAYERS
You can interpret that anyway you want and remember,
any project is eligible to enter- it doesn't have to be a layout!

Here is a look at my layout
This is my Sweet Baby Jade at 11 months old! She was so cute back then!
I have used Carta Bella papers and chipboard to build my layers.

Here's how to do it
I mapped out where I wanted my photo to go, then I arranged chipboard pieces around the outer edge until I was happy with the way they looked.

Once everything was glued down, I put two thin coats of gesso over the whole thing and spread it out around the area onto the page as well. Let dry completely.

Add you color how ever you want- I used some pink Glitter Glam from Heidi Swapp- I just painted a heavy coat over the whole area; let dry completely.

When everything was dry I splattered some pink paint over the whole layout. I used my Stamper's Big Brush Pen in White to add accents around the outer edge of the chipboards and added some pearls from Queen and Co.

Here is a closer look. The Chipboard title is from Blue Fern Studios and I heat embossed with Raspberry Tart from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

To add another layer at the bottom, I cut my paper and punched the cut edges, folding them back. I added a doiley that I have had for YEARS underneath, some brads, buttons and flowers.
Flowers are Prima, buttons are from Imaginisce.

I wanted to use this cute polka dot paper to match her swimsuit, but I didn't want a huge piece of it. I cut one strip to show the dots and added it across the page from the photo. I added machine stitching along the edges. The punch used here is from Fiskars and I added some faux stitching with my PITT® Artist Pen from Faber-Castell®.

I used Detail White EP from Sparkle N Sprinkle on this chippie from Creative Embellishments- look how crisp the edge is when using the detail powder!
The hearts on the side were made using a Wendy Vecchi stencil and embossing paste. When it was dry I used two colors of Gelatos® to color them.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
You have until May 31st to link up your project over on
