Mushroom Fairy Jar - Painting on Glass

Painted Mason Jar
This month Marabu is sponsoring the Designer Crafts Connection Blog Hop. They were generous enough to send me a starter set of their Porcelain Paints and a selection of their paint pens. I used them to paint a Mushroom Fairy Jar. I have realized that perhaps freehand painting is not my one of my strengths!

Marabu is giving away a great prize - be sure to read all the way to the end of the post to see how to enter for your chance to win.

Mushroom Fairy Jar

I picked up this cute mason jar at the store a while back - it holds votive holder inside- and I have been waiting to make something with it. The Porcelain Paints were super easy to apply and look great.  I used a very small stipple brush to create the texture of the mushrooms, then outlined with a very small liner brush.  I set it aside to dry at this point.

My second step was to add the white dots using the ball tip of an embossing tool. I used a small flat brush to add the stems and set aside to dry again. Last step was to add what I am going to call leaves. They don't look like leaves - but I am going to call them that anyway. Let's all pretend they are leaves. Your cooperation is appreciated.

So,, this looks way better in person than in a photo. I seriously took about 15 photos from different angles and with different exposures with no luck. This was as good as it got.  It looks very cool - trust me on this.

Marabu has a great line of painting supplies so be sure to check them out. You can see their product line at this link.  Marabu is giving away a fabulous prize valued at @ $75. In order to win you must hop over to the Designer Crafts Connection Blog and COMMENT there.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the DCC blog to see the other great projects and enter for your chance to win a fabulous prize from Marabu.
